SIA coin blockchain download

New to Sia? Me too :)
It is easy to install Sia wallet, but it may take forever to sync with the network. Sia developers admit they have a bug in the synchronization algorithm and have promised to fix it.

If you have no time to wait for the new release of the Sia wallet, download the Sia blockchain snapshot from here:

I will try to maintain this post and re-upload fresh blockchain as long as I will be interested in Sia.

Installation instructions:

1. Kill Sia client Sia-UI. It will not give up easily, probably you will need to use Win Task Manager.
2. Copy downloaded file consensus.db into the following folder:

Windows: %APPDATA%\Sia-UI\sia\consensus\
Path example (in my case):  C:\Users\vaio\AppData\Roaming\Sia-UI\sia\consensus

MAC: ~/Library/Application Support/Sia-UI/sia/consensus

You can backup (rename) your original file or simply overwrite it.

3. Start Sia wallet again and wait it will process and verify the data. It may take from 20 minutes to 6-8 hours depend on you hard drive and CPU performance.

It's a long time, agree. The alternative is to wait for 2-4 days for download by Sia client. I got sick to see Sia struggling with the first-time download, so I have uploaded Sia blockchain to save your time.

Why did I start this? Introduction.

I have over 30 years of experience in software development and electronic engineering and I have 0 years of experience in cryptocurrency. Strange, isn't it?
